YMCA Swimming Lessons
Generations of children have learned to swim at the Y. Knowing how to swim can save your life — or even someone else's. Taught by certified YMCA instructors, our swimming lessons develop lifelong skills to help you be safe in and around the water.
The YMCA has developed three nationally accredited swimming programs to help children progress through the skills required to become proficient swimmers.
Preschool Swim Lessons
Introduces children 6 months to 5 years old to the water and teaches foundational skills.
Learn to Swim Lessons
For children 6-12 years old to continue to develop their swimming skills.
Star Program Lessons
For children who have completed the Learn to Swim program to develop more advanced skills.
Aquatic Certifications
Open the door to employment and volunteer possibilities through our YMCA Aquatic Certifications programs.
Certification as a lifeguard or swimming instructor can lead to employment opportunities at the YMCA and elsewhere. You'll also develop leadership skills that can have a profound impact on your future success.
