On January 13, the YMCA of Regina unveiled the details of Regina’s Housing First Strategy. Described as a way to take “concrete action” to address homelessness, the plan focuses on setting up homeless individuals in homes, and then providing supports to help address issues like addiction and mental health, which can be contributing factors to homelessness.
The strategy was developed in partnership with the City of Regina, along with funding from the federal government. It will officially begin in April.
