In late August, approximately 100-150 children from all the Edmonton branches of the YMCA of Northern Alberta had a thrill they’re not likely to forget. Chris Hadfield, retired astronaut and the first Canadian to walk in space, spoke with the kids via Skype.

Chris started the call by playing a song for everyone and ended the call with another song. Both of which were songs that he performed while he was on his mission in space. Among the questions the children asked: Is the moon made of cheese? If not, what is it made from? What is the next step for the Canadian space program? Do you actually drink filtered pee? (Curious about the answer to the last question? Check out this YouTube video for Hadfield’s answer.)
