On January 19, the Intercultural Dialogue Institute of the Greater Toronto Area awarded its first Peace and Dialogue Youth Award to the 4Rs Youth Movement.

The Movement's mission is to change the country by changing the relationship between indigenous and non-indigenous youth. 4Rs is using face-to face dialogue, facilitated by young change makers, at trainings and 4Rs events to co-create fundamental changes in the way young people experience each other and Canada.

YMCA Canada is proud to be the lead partner in this initiative, alongside 13 other organizations, with the YMCA of Greater Toronto providing support for the activities of the 4Rs Youth Movement. YMCA Canada and 4Rs staff members Jessica Bolduc and Rebecca Beaulne-Stuebing have worked hard to establish and grow the impact of the initiative since it was established in 2013.

Canada’s Ys are currently represented in the movement by Colton Maracle (YMCA of Stratford-Perth) and Henry Brass (YMCA of Regina).
