Historic heritage building

Purchased by the City of London from the Province of Ontario, this beautifully renovated heritage building is now home to a 104-space YMCA of Western Ontario Child Care Centre, Language Services for Newcomers to Canada, community programs, and administrative offices.

Located in one of Canada’s most beautiful and unique neighbourhoods, the London Normal School in Wortley Village first opened on February 1, 1900. That year the first class of prospective teachers began their studies in the new school, which at that time was considered to be the most modern teacher-training school in Canada. The YMCA of Western Ontario is proud to lease this historical space from the City and considers the community location a perfect fit.
