YMCA Peace Week, to be held from November 17 to 24 this year, is a time to celebrate the presence of peace in our communities, as well as to reflect on the peace-building work that is core to our values and happening all year, both inside and outside the YMCA. At the YMCA, peace means more than the absence of violence and conflict; peace is the ongoing work of building and rebuilding conditions of fairness, inclusion, empathy, security, and respect for diversity.

Typically, YMCA Peace Week is marked with a variety of activities that include YMCA Peace Medal celebrations, art exhibitions, live music coffee houses, youth peace symposiums, and Yoga for Peace events. Be sure to join in the fun and excitement of the various activities YMCAs have planned for 2018 by following and contributing to the #YMCAPeaceWeek and #actforpeace hashtags on social media, attending a Peace Medal ceremony, or participating in other events planned at your YMCA!
