The YMCA is delighted to once again receive the support of Zehrs’ Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign to assist children across the province of Ontario. From July 15 to 28, Zehrs Markets stores in Ontario invites shoppers to Give a Little, Help a Lot by adding $2 to their grocery bill in support of the YMCA. All funds collected will provide financial assistance to ensure all kids have a chance to participate in YMCA programs like camps, after-school programs, or sports and swimming through health and fitness memberships.
“We’re thrilled with the excitement of this year’s campaign, but we’re even more impressed with the local support our store colleagues continue to provide their local YMCAs” says Mike Doucette, vice-president, Zehrs. “I’ve seen first-hand the role YMCA programs play in providing nutritious meals and encouraging kids to live active lifestyles and we thank our customers for their yearly support that allows us to continue to support the YMCA in a meaningful way.”
The YMCA has always advocated for and supported the development of happy and healthy children, and the support of the community continues to make this possible.
Peter Dinsdale, President & CEO of YMCA Canada says “The Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign enables children, no matter their financial circumstances, to attend the Y to get active, learn new skills and gain confidence and friends. We thank Zehrs Markets and their customers for helping to create these meaningful experiences for children by donating to YMCA programs.”
For seven years, Zehrs Markets and their parent company, Loblaw Companies Limited, have been working with the YMCA to create opportunities for children to become healthier, and to reach their full potential.
