IRPP Report

Scott Haldane, President and CEO of YMCA Canada, is a member of the Institute for Research on Public Policy’s (IRPP) Task Force on Aging, which recently published a report titled “Designing a National Seniors Strategy for Canada.” (English  French) The document contains more than 30 concrete recommendations to meet the needs of older Canadians, from the points of view of care, community and the organization of work, and has been generating media attention across the country.

To inform his work on the task force, Scott worked with a YMCA reference group composed of Dr. Graydon Meneilly (Board of Directors, YMCA of Greater Vancouver), Dr. Neena Chappell (recommended by Wynne Young, National Board), Maryanne Brown (recommended by YMCA of Northumberland), Genevieve Hladysh (YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford) and Vytas Mickevicius (YMCA Canada).

We appreciate the expertise and insights these subject matter experts brought to the process, allowing the YMCA to be a beneficial contributor to the initiative.
